Chart notes
JOYS OF SUMMER set the pace on a clear lead in the first turn, widened the advantage down the backside, and held on late while weakening in the final sixteenth. HAUT LES COEURS broke near the rear of the pack when one of the doors was slow to open, remianed unhurried for the first half mile, made a steady advance to prominence on the far turn and continued to narrow the gap in the lane. SPARKLING RUBY slow early to race at the rear of the field, circled six wide turning for home to be prominent at the top of the lane in the chase for the winner and flattened out finishing evenly unable to sustain the bid. HIGH TRACK stalked the runaway pacesetter to the far turn, narrowed the margin turning for home and weakened in the final eighth. LIZZIE BABY was unprepared at the start and hopped away from the gate as a result, raced up to track the leaders to the far turn, was in tight on the final turn, steadied and dropped from contention having thrown in the towel. E M'S TREASUREGIRL lunged at the start to break awkwardly, tracked the leaders for a half and dropped to the rear on the turn. THE STEWARDS POSTED AN INQUIRY INTO THE BREAK REGARDING THE RUNNER UP, UPON CLOSE REVIEW THEY DETERMINED THE SHE RECEIVED A FAIR START.
