Chart notes
STELLA MARS was in a bit tight at the break, then bumped off-stride shortly after the start, then settled well back through the early stages while saving ground, was pushed along through the far turn, then tipped out to the three path, responded to strong handling to prove best over a game WHITE LILACS in a thrilling stretch duel. WHITE LILACS got away well and secured a rail position while conceding the lead, did not get involved with the dueling leaders early, then moved up to challenge near the quarter pole, hooked up with STELLA MARS in a ferocious stretch duel, and came up short in a game effort. EXPECTING A WINNER settled mid-pack inside, swung four-wide with good momentum into the stretch, finished up strong but could not quite get to the top pair in a solid effort. TIKI BAR settled near the rear, got over to the rail when clear, saved ground throughout, then put in a good late bid to improve while never a serious threat to the top three. CONQUEST DANCER stalked MAJESTIC CREED from the first turn, took a slight lead into the stretch with several poised to bid on the outside, then was outfinished in the final furlong. MAJESTIC CREED secured a clear lead coming off the first turn, then had CONQUEST DANCER a constant presence just off the outside flank, went through solid fractions to the far turn, dug in when confronted by a host of challengers at the top of the stretch, then steadied when forced into the chute in mid-stretch and was unable to recover. NEVER SO LUCKY (IRE) got forced out at the start, then was last into the first turn, continued to trail to the far turn, then was unable to muster a rally. fo.
