Chart notes
MY LADY SLEW was sent to the front to establish a clear lead while under a strong rating hold, maintained a two-to-three-length margin to the far turn, was confidently ridden even while presented with two challengers late on the turn, was not asked for best until mid-stretch, then went clear when cued with about a furlong to go. GRACE DARLING (IRE) was held up a few lengths behind the pacesetter, made a bid for the lead near the quarter pole, but was turned back and chased the winner in vain the rest of the way. YAMILE'S settled well off the pace with only one rival behind in the early stages, moved up the inside heading into the turn, then backed out when no path was available, went four-wide into the stretch, and finished up well to gain the third prize. MY BUDDY BROOKS tracked in second position under a strong hold through the first half, then was sent three-wide from the three-furlong pole to bid for the lead, then flattened out in upper stretch. JOURNEYIST raced mid-pack two-wide then finished evenly in the stretch, lacking the needed late kick. ATOMIC HABITS was not asked for speed from the outset and settled at the rear, trailed to the far turn, then was outkicked and unable to improve in the stretch run.
