Chart notes
MEMPHIS SLIM set the pace near the rail, drifted out a bit turning for home and prevailed under steady handling. GOLDEN GOAL , never far back, rallied outside horses. HEAVY HITTER remained along the inner rail, had aim on the leader in upper stretch and flattened out. KING FALIERO chased outside the winner and faded. TUN TAVERN , wide, failed to menace and passed tired rivals. GREATDAYFORHOCKEY lacked speed and drifted very wide leaving the turn. BULLSEYE BUN raced along the inner rail without a rally. T. L. COPPER STILL , caught in close quarters leaving the starting gate, was lightly steadied entering the turn, moved to the inner rail approaching the stretch and was not a factor. SURFIN SAM bobbled at the break and gave way on the turn.
