Chart notes
MADAGASCAR pressed the pace throughoout to always be in striking distance, rallied in the stretch to wear down the runner-up in deep stretch and prevailed in a determined drive. INMATE set the pace under steady pressure through dawdling fractions, responded when called upon for the drive and was outfinished late to be second best. TREGETOUR reserved off the pace to be the trailer in the compact field, angled six wide at the top of the lane and rallied mildly to be best of the rest. LUCKY NUMBER THREE was hard held off heels repeatedly through the first turn and onto the backstretch as the pacesetter backed the pace down, stalked the leaders to the turn. lost position on the bend and finished evenly. STRUCK tracked the leaders from five wide to the final turn and lacked a response when called upon. READY SET CAIRO was not a threat.
