MCMONEY was held up near the back of the field through the early stages, gradually advanced three-wide down the backstretch, then moved up to challenge the pacesetting duo for the lead on the turn, was on even terms at the top of the stretch, battled gamely down the late, wore down both foes in the final yards, and edged clear near the wire. EUCLID AVENUE hustled away from the break, then settled in a stalking position two-wide to the outside of POLTERER, ramped up the pressure on that rival after passing the half-mile pole, then was between horses through the turn as MCMONEY joined the fray to the outside, battled gamely through the stretch, and was outfinished in the final yards. POLTERER showed good speed from the break, secured the rail and the lead on the clubhouse turn, was getting mild pressure from EUCLID AVENUE through the first half-mile, then dug in on the far turn when confronted by that foe then also MCMONEY midway through the turn, was the inside horse in a three-way battle through the stretch, tired late from early efforts, but held third well clear of the next finisher. STRONGER TOGETHER raced in mid-pack two-wide, finished evenly in the stretch, but was never a threat. LAND MARK DEAL tracked close up early, then struggled to keep pace through the turn and lacked a late bid. ICE AXE was void of speed through the early stages and was unable to improve late.
