Chart notes
GOLDEN REGAL tracked the battling leaders into the backstretch while racing just out from the rail, quickly collared the pacesetter three wide soon after entering the final turn, got the better of that foe leaving the turn, and inched clear late to prove best. KITTEN KANDY away alertly and vied for the lead from along the rail entering the first turn, dictated the pace in the run down the backstretch, rallied along the inside entering the final turn, was unable to match strides with GOLDEN REGAL leaving the turn, but battled gamely two wide in the drive to prove second best. MAX BOOSTER stalked the dueling leaders into the backstretch while racing one out from the rail, commenced his bid three wide entering the final turn, and finished evenly three wide in the drive to garner a share. MISS LARUE broke sharply and was allowed to settle off the early pace while saving ground at the rail entering the backstretch, rallied from along the rail entering the final turn, and finished from along the inside in the stretch drive while unable to seriously threaten. LITTLE TRIBUNE unhurried early while trailing the field into the backstretch, rallied one out from the rail through the final turn, and finished evenly three wide in the drive. FLAGSTAFF JIM away well, and rushed up quickly to battle for the lead from the outside of KITTEN CANDY entering the first turn, was unable to match strides with that rival in the run down the backside, and was through early and not persevered with in the late stages.
