ALADANTE was pushed to establish a forward position from the break, gained the lead coming out of the first turn, was left alone to dictate solid fractions, was sent along with three furlongs to run, opened up a big lead late on the turn, held that lead to deep stretch, was getting short in deep stretch, but held safe in the final yards. GUN IT AND RUN IT came away from the gate running but ceded the lead to ALADANTE, settled in a stalking position for the first half, then was unable to quicken when that one opened up on the far turn, tipped out three-wide into the stretch, was under a stiff drive and steady urging, closed the gap in the final yards but came up short. MONEY AGENT was held up three-wide in the middle of the field through the early stages, dropped down the rail before the far turn, launched a two-wide bid from the five-sixteenths marker, tipped out into the clear in the stretch, and finished up well, just missed second. LONE RETURN got shuffled back at the start, then raced three-wide near the back of the field, idled in heavy traffic through the far turn, then found best stride late and made a nice run in the final yards. MOONRISE DRIVE settled near the back of the field to the far turn, became boxed in from the middle of the far turn to the stretch, got clear too late to improve. COOL LESTER SMOOTH allowed to settle from the break, settled along the rail in the middle of the pack, advanced to be closer heading into the far turn, was stuck behind horses through the far turn, had a clear path into the stretch, but did not respond when called upon. KINGSBURRY ATTACK raced in mid-pack three-wide through the first half, then finished evenly, lacking a late kick. BYWORD settled at the rear of the field, stayed to the inside, and passed some tired rivals in the stretch. SAN ANTON (IRE) took a light bump and got shuffled back at the start, raced forward of the second flight, dropped back before the far turn, then tried to rally six-wide into the stretch but could not generate a late bid. HIGH RANSOM settled between the leaders and the tracking group, weakened late on the far turn and had little to offer in the stretch. SHTARKER hustled from the break, got caught four-wide on the first turn, stalked the pace 3-wide down the backstretch, then came under a ride with three furlongs to run, in a futile attempt to go with ALADANTE, got over the rail before the turn for home, but faltered in upper stretch. BEST DRESSED MAN got away well from the gate, tracked three-wide to the far turn, weakened, then had nothing to offer in the stretch.
