Chart notes
PEACE POSEY was unhurried trailing on the fence, lagged well back midpoint on the final turn, shifted out three wide reaching for more ground, had a full head of steam in the five path outside runners a furlong from the prize and under a well timed stretch rally got up late in deep stretch to edge away for the win at the wire. NICKI IS A BREEZE settled near the rear between runners in the early stages, made a quick move getting inside position at the five sixteenths pole, waited to pounce at the quarter pole, lacked running room stymied behind the embattled trio in upper stretch, got out having clear run in the four path a furlong still to run, started to roll late but was outkicked on the outside by the winner who had a full head of steam by then going past rivals in the final sevent yards. BEAUTIFUL SKY travelled three wide outside foes on the first of two turns, continued in midfield on the outside at the half, picked up the bit three wide at the quarter pole moving to the leaders, dueled three wide outside two others at the top of the lane, poked his head in front while drifting inwards under right handed encouragement at the furlong marker, needed more late unable to fend off the outside closers in deep stretch and faded to hold for the show money between horses at the wire. MCKENZIE ROAD got to the rail from the outer post assuming command setting a slow pace on the first turn, had an even tempo controlling things up top along the backside, had company on the outside at the quarter pole,, dug in holding stubbornly on the fence until the furlong marker and weakened inside runners in the last seventy yards to garner only a minor award in the end. MAXINE MAGIC was tucked in on the fence behind the pacesetter, had the inside sitting in midfield at the half, rallied shifting out at the three eighths marker, vied between horses a quarter mile still to run, remained in the thick of things two wide in upper stretch, was in tight with runners on either side losing its path being checked nearing the sixteenth pole and could not recover in time to factor in the late running. ECLIPTICAL LADYBUG had an outside tracking position for the first half of the race, was scrubbed for more but was going in the wrong direction between foes at the five sixteenths pole, could see the field four wide turning for home and could not okay a role, cantering home in the stretch drive.
