NICKY JOLENE came away well, gained the rail position and the lead on the first turn, slowed the pace, the maintained position under an early challenge from SAUCY HAM late on the back stretch, was confidently rated through the far turn the, responded when set down at the top of the stretch, went a couple of lengths clear in upper stretch, then fended off a late challenge from a rival on the outside. ELFUEGOMASBRILANTE settled off the pace but not far from the front in the forward group, got a clear path into the stretch, rallied, and was gradually closing the margin, but ran out of time while well clear of the next finisher. CLASSICALS FINALE tracked just behind the pace from the start, bid for the lead leaving the quarter pole, finished willingly, but was not quite good enough. HYPER VENOM settled in mid-pack, held position, then ran on some late but was outfinished for a minor award. COUNTRY CHARLIE had the head turned as the gates opened and was off a step slow, tracked three-wide in the second flight, was never far back, and traveling well, bid five-wide at the top of the stretch but was unable to generate a winning kick in the stretch. MERGING TRAFFIC raced well off the pace through the early stages, made a mild bid on the far turn, but lacked a finish. SHELLBACK settled near the rear for the first half, came four-wide into the stretch, but was unable to threaten. PURE REALIZATION was three-wide and last into the first turn, kept to the inside and passed tired rivals in the stretch. SAUCY HAM moved up from the break to track three-wide as the field headed down the backstretch, made an early bid for the lead but was rebuffed by NICKY JONAS, ceded the lead while maintaining a pressing position to the outside through the turn, then could not go on with that one in the stretch and tired. HOME INVASION broke well, was always close up to the far turn, started to lose position midway through the turn, then continued to fade to the back in the stretch.
