Chart notes
FIGHT THE POWER broke sharply and sprinted clear from the gate with DON ALEJANDRO the only rival in close pursuit early, settled into a nice rhythm through the turn to maintain a clear lead, was confidently ridden to the top of the stretch, then responded nicely when set down in upper stretch and was widening a bit in the late stages. GOGH was outpaced initially but found best stride heading into the far turn, loomed a threat under a drive at the top of the stretch but could not go with the winner in the final furlong, kept to task and gained the place. DON ALEJANDRO was hustled from the break to put some pressure on FIGHT THE POWER, was under a ride from the start, responded to left-handed urging in the stretch but was unable to threaten the winner and outfinished for the place. EARL'S OUTLAW broke outward and as away awkwardly behind the rest, rushed up three-wide to regain contact with the field at the head of the turn, bid four-wide under the crop, and finished with some interest but lacked the needed finishing kick. HEAVENLY BELIEFS broke outward and was a little slow to begin, raced mid-pack to the turn, had the forward path blocked at that point, idled behind the rest, then raced greenly and was outfinished in the stretch.
