Chart notes
DR SCHUSTER veered out at the start, then got caught four-wide on the first turn, pulled five-wide to be up close to the leader approaching the halfway point, continued to advance through the far turn, then bid three-wide for the lead near the quarter pole, gained command in upper stretch, drew clear under steady handling, and held off a late challenge to prevail. LAW OF THE JUNGLE got pinched at the start, settled inside through the first turn, appeared full of run going into the far turn but lacked a clear path, swept around the field on the last bend, then finished up strong but lugged in through the stretch and came up short in the end. FULL SPECTRUM got away well and was always prominent, tracked close up four-wide down the backstretch under light restraint, then was let loose with three furlongs to run, bid between horses at the quarter pole, could not find another gear when needed in the stretch, and was outfinished. LOMACHENKO hustled from the break and won the race into the first turn, led the way down the backstretch while left to dictate the fractions, surrendered the lead at the quarter pole, kept on well to mid-stretch, then weakened. BRIGHTER DAY hopped in the air at the start, raced three-to-four wide throughout, made a mild late bid but lacked a late kick. RAMSEY was bumped by the inside rival at the start, settled in the middle of the pack, towards the rear, then advanced under a ride through the far turn, but went a little flat in the stretch and was unable to give the needed response. SHAKE THE FROST broke out at the start and into the path of LAW OF THE JUNGLE, was pushed to get a forward position, then settled into a stalking position to the outside of LOMACHENKO down the backstretch, was surrounded and overtaken near the seven-sixteenths marker, faded to the back and had little left to give in the stretch. SWING STATE saved ground racing close up to the far turn, started to lose ground near the three-furlong pole, and was uninvolved in the late stages. SIGHT UNSEEN got pinballed at the start, took up, and was last into the first turn, was content to trail to the far turn, made a six-wide bid late on the far turn but faltered in upper stretch and could not threaten.
