Chart notes
PEANUTBUTTERBOMBE set the pace from inside under pressure, cleared outer rival late on the bend, felt SURFIN' U. S. A. bearing down from outside through the lane but remained strong under right-handed urging to the line. SURFIN' U. S. A. stalked two wide into the turn, moved out a path and took aim three wide turning for home, chased determinedly into deep stretch but could not summon the needed late kick. SOUL SISTER broke slow from the outside, trailed off the rail then outside a rival into the turn, angled out in upper stretch and gained third. HAWAIIAN MOON showed early foot but got crowded between rivals early and had to take hold, stalked the speed from close up on the inside, cut the corner into the lane and weakened when called upon. PHOTOGENIC settled off the pace and moved inside, gained from the fence around the bend and flattened out in the drive. EGYPTIAN MISTRESS pressed the leader from outside, failed to kick on with that rival with a quarter mile remaining and weakened down the lane.
