Chart notes
BLAZE OF COLOR showed speed away from the start and assumed command, set a contested early pace then shook free into the turn, drew off nearing the quarter marker, romped through the stretch and was geared down late while in hand. ANTILLEAN hopped at the start and off slowly, was unhurried in the early going, saved ground into the turn and advanced at the quarter marker, was no match for the winner into the stretch but stayed on late and was best of the rest. MUSTANG BAY lacked early speed, advanced four wide along the turn, could not keep impact the top pair into the stretch but ran on late and was clear in the end for third. THINGSRGETTINHARRY settled off of the early pace, saved ground into the turn, was caught in a bit of traffic to upper stretch and angled widest for the drive, could not find the needed late response but improved position in the lane. SANTAL disputed the early pace from inside of BLAZE OF COLOR, chased the pacesetter into the turn, ran in pursuit two then three wide nearing the quarter pole, could not muster a response to upper stretch and tired in the drive. SIXTEEN CIGARETTES tracked the early pace from the inside, chased from the rail then between rivals nearing the quarter marker, lacked a response to upper stretch and faltered in the drive. PAPA FUNNY tracked the early pace from the second flight, lost position heading to the turn, could not find a response to upper stretch and came up empty in the final furlong. JERSEY PERFECTION was forwardly placed away from the start, tracked the pace three wide heading to the turn, dropped back into the bend, was eased through the stretch and walked off.
