Chart notes
CAUGHT OFF GUARD was unhurried from the start, settled along the inside, started to run on with about three furlongs to go, came three-wide into the stretch, produced a steady rally under handling, and got up in the shadow of the finish line. TAHOE RUN was the inside horse in the pair tracking behind the runaway leaders, got a head in front near the sixteenth pole, but was outkicked in the final yards. CLIFF DIVER was well back of the front through the first half-mile, saved ground through the far turn, and rallied to take the third prize. WHATDOYOUTHINKMARK pulled to the front, briefly dueled with SAWYER FOX but ceded the front to that one on the backstretch, launched a bid late on the turn to go after that foe, but flattened out a bit inside the furlong pole and was outfinished. BOURBON LIFE raced well behind in the back half of the field through the early stages, then was steadily gaining late while never a serious threat. IT'S BOBS BUSINESS tracked in third position behind the breakaway leaders, then faltered in the stretch. SAWYER FOX rushed to the front going into the first turn, went about six lengths clear of the rest late on the backstretch, led the way into the stretch then tired with a furlong to go and was unable to last. FLIPPING FISH was outrun through the early stages, struggled to keep up late on the backstretch run, and had nothing to offer in the late stages. EYE DEE KAY threw the head at the start, and spotted the field a head start, lagged near the rear, and never fired. GOD GUNS N GUTS missed the break, raced far behind, and was never a factor. This race had a timing discrepancy or malfunction and was re-timed using video technology to arrive at the most accurate final time.
