Chart notes
RINGTHATBELL veered out at the start, was outpaced in the early running, then moved up while racing six-wide, circled the field on the turn to bid six-wide at the top of the stretch, then finished up best under strong handling and steady urging to edge clear in the final yards. DREAM BOY raced mid-pack for the first quarter mile, then moved up through the turn to bid four-wide at the head of the stretch, had trouble with the lead change, and raced very greenly but outfinished all but the winner. SAMMY'S HALO broke inward at the start and bumped MOTOWN DREAM, was always close, finished up well but came up short in a good effort. MOTOWN DREAM got pinballed at the start, then was unable to keep up early and raced with the trio bringing up the rear, found best stride late, and rallied strongly to just miss grabbing the minor award. CHASING ORION got away well, pressed the pace three-wide into the turn, briefly got a head in front at the top of the stretch, kept on well but was outfinished in the final yards. SOUP TODAY was bothered at the start, then void of speed and distanced early, regained contact with the field in the stretch, raced greenly, steadied near the eighth pole, then outfinished a few stragglers before the wire. RIVERS OF WEALTH pressed the early pace three-wide, was prominent to the stretch, then tired. RASCAL FLASH hustled to the front from the start, was overtaken going into the turn, swung five-wide into the stretch, but did not respond. THAT'S FAIR chased close up early, had no path through the turn, angled out six-wide for the stretch run, and lugged in under urging. MY PAISAN broke sharply and was up on the pace through the early stages, settled just behind RASCAL FLASH initially, then took over the lead near the seven-sixteenths marker, caved in when confronted by a host of challengers near the quarter pole, and tired in the stretch. CLASSIC DAVID was always outrun and showed little.
