Chart notes
RECKLESS L J broke on top but ceded the lead while remaining in the stalking trip just behind the dueling leaders, bided time behind horses through the turn, then got an opening along the rail, took the lead before the furlong marker and held clear to the finishl. LIBERATE dueled outside of GUNNER GABRIEL to the turn, took command past the three-furlong pole, battled with RECKLESS L J in upper stretch, but was outfinished by that rival while all-out to hold the place. DARK VADER tracked four to five wide early, moved up on the turn, then finished up with good energy but was not quite doing enough to get to the winner. NEED TO KNOW BASIS settled off the pace close up early, then dropped back going into the turn, came back on to improve position in the stretch, but was too late to threaten for the win. GUNNER GABRIEL broke in at the start, then hustled to the front, dueled with LIBERATE into the turn, gave way to that rival at the three-furlong pole, then tired in the stretch. SPECIALIZED broke in a tangle, raced at the back of the compact field to the turn, moved up three-wide on the turn, then had some trouble changing leads in the stretch, and faltered. GENERAL WINSTON was briefly close up on the inside, then weakened on the turn and faded.
