Chart notes
DRILLING REPORT raced within contention, came around the turn on the outside, rallied down the lane and proved the best late. HOLY BAYOU sprinted to the front, drove clear, proved no match late for the winner, but was best of others. OCEOLA bumped at the start, raced near the middle of the pack, made a late bid and proved no match for the top two. TRUVY'S BANDIT raced in the middle of the field, came around the turn on the outside, made a wide bid and was outfinished for third. WAR SONG bothered at the start, saved ground around the turn and showed late interest. CREOLE CHARLIE void of early speed, came around the turn on the outside, entered the stretch wide and was no factor. EMPIRE KID came out at the start, bumped rival, pressed the pace and was finished early. SAMMY DANSEUR JR. shuffled back at the start, raced within contention and faded. DIXIE STREET bumped at the start, raced near the back and was outrun.
