Chart notes
BARON OF THE NILE stalked the leaders in the early going, made a strong move on the outside around the second turn, drove clear and won under steady urging. NAPOLEONIC CODE raced near the back in the early going, moved up on the outside around the second turn, proved no match for the winner, but was a clear second. DRIED PEPPER raced near the middle of the field, made a bid down the final stretch, proved no match for the top two, but got by EMERALD EXPRESS for third. EMERALD EXPRESS lacked early speed, came around the second turn on the outside, made a wide gain and was outfinished for third. CHANGING TIMES went to the front, drove clear, saved ground and weakened. COLONEL BARTON pressed the early pace, faded and was no threat late. SMOOTHDINI void of early speed and was never a threat.
