Chart notes
LAZIO pressed the pace two wide, took over in upper stretch, continued on the left lead in the lane and dug in late to just last. NEW YORK NEW YORK stalked the pace three wide, tended to lug in, rallied outside, came in and lightly brushed the winner just passing the wire and just missed. MESSAGEFROMTHEKING set the pace in the two path, yielded in upper stretch and kept on for the show. VALID SENSE chased the pace from the rail and was one-paced through the lane. LOUD APPLAUSE failed to menace while racing two wide. MIGRATORY trailed inside. AN OBJECTION LODGED BY THE RIDER OF NEW YORK NEW YORK AGAINST THE WINNER FOR ALLEGED INTERFERENCE IN THE STRETCH WAS NOT ALLOWED.
