Chart notes
LUCKY COUGAR broke well, then tucked in just behind the pace battle, moved out to the three-path to vie for the lead on the turn, came four-wide at the top of the lane, drifted inward at the furlong marker after making the lead, and held sway to the finish under steady handling. LADY WELLINGTON broke awkwardly and was slow into stride, was allowed to settle, then steadily advanced through the middle stages, spun five-wide into the stretch, and continued to finish with good energy, was closing the gap on the leader but ran out of time. LARIMAR contested the early pace three-wide to the stretch, was still with a big chance when forced to take up sharply and alter course near the furlong pole, rebid but was too late. HONEY BELLA vied between horses early, went clear near the seven-sixteenths with the other two still in close pursuit, held a short lead into the stretch, then was overtaken by LUCKY COUGAR with a furlong to go. A LITTLE CANELA bobbled at the start, but quickly recovered and was the inside horse of the trio contesting the early pace, kept on well to mid-stretch but weakened in the final yards. MISS FUSSY PANTS stumbled badly at the start, dropped far back, then ran on some through the stretch. CAUMSETT lost contact with the field late on the backstretch run, then chased from far back the rest of the way. THE JOCKEY ON #7 LARIMER LODGED A CLAIM OF FOUL AGAINST #1 LUCKY COUGAR FOR INTERFERENCE IN MID STRETCH. AFTER A REVIEW, THE STEWARDS DISQUALIFIED LUCKY COUGAR AND PLACED HER THIRD.
