Chart notes
RUNNING ASH seized the lead on the first turn, then slowed the pace to a crawl, responded to a bid by MOBIL DREAM STAR on the turn, dueled that rival to mid-stretch, then gained the advantage and held clear late. MOBIL DREAM STAR ducked out sharply at the start, forced both outside rivals out wide, pressed the early pace into the first turn, then ceded the lead while keeping to a stalking position through the early stages, bid for the lead leaving the seven-sixteenths marker, then dueled RUNNING ASH through the turn and into the stretch, drifted out to the middle of the track, and was outfinished by that rival in the late stages. JILLY RUNS DEEP tracked just behind the slow early pace, then was unable to go on when the pace quickened on the far turn, but kept to task and finished clear of the rest to claim the minor award. COWGIRLTAKEMEAWAY was forced out at the start, then settled five-wide at the back through the first half, tried to rally through the far turn but was unable to overcome the slow pace and never threatened. ELOPEDATTHEDERBY stumbled, then was broadsided by MOBIL DREAM STAR also carrying COWGIRLTAKEMEAWAY wide, raced well behind despite the slow pace, then was unable to make up any ground in the late stages. MAC'S CAILIN settled mid-pack early, then lacked a rally. COWGIRLS HUMOR lunged at the start, dislodging the rider from the both irons, and was eventually eased to the finish and walked off. THERE WAS A STEWARDS INQUIRY INTO THE START. AFTER A REVIEW, NO ACTION WAS TAKEN.
