Chart notes
FROMTHEWONDERLAND was under coaxing from the start to keep pace, advanced five-wide while still under a ride through the turn, found a clear path into the stretch, closed the gap, and wore down RUBY RIVER on the lead to get up in the last jumps. RUBY RIVER broke on top, went clear in the initial stages, then, picked up a host of challengers near the half-mile pole, battled back when confronted on the turn, had the lead in deep stretch, then gave way grudgingly in the final jumps while finishing well clear of the next horse. MIDNIGHT GLIMMER was hustled up after a bit of a tardy start, pressed the pace from the inside to the stretch, was held up behind horses late on the turn, then could not find the winning kick when needed but kept on well to hold third. SOMETHINGTOSAY veered out at the start, then pressed the pace four-wide down the backstretch, steadied near the five-sixteenths marker, lost some momentum, was kept to task but came up short for a minor award. DAME'S ROCKET broke well but conceded the lead to RUBY RIVER, made an early try for the lead but backed off, came back on to challenge with three furlongs to run, could not get past that same rival late on the turn, then flattened out in the stretch. JAGANNA was slow into stride then a bit too eager going down the backstretch with the rider taking a firm hold, angled out three-wide from the quarter pole, but lacked a response. AMERICAN TOAST brushed at the start with SOMETHINGTOSAY, dropped far behind before the turn, and trailed throughout. Race was originally hand-timed and was re-timed due to an equipment malfunction. Due to a technical issue the 5/8 split does not show in the chart (102.18)
