Chart notes
POCKET SAND rated nicely off of the early leaders, tracked three wide to the backstretch run then was roused into the far turn, took command at the quarter marker and kicked clear into the stretch, romped through the lane and drew off while in hand to win as much the best. XERCES settled off of the early pace, saved ground while not far back along the backstretch run, chased the leaders to the quarter marker then swung three to four wide to upper stretch, was no match for the winner in the drive but stayed on in the late stages to be second best. CARROLL GIRL broke alertly and vied for the lead in the early going, ceded the front and stalked CINDY'S SONG to the backstretch run, prompted that rival through moderate fractions then vied for the lead between foes into the far turn, could not keep pace with the top pair into the stretch and was a clear third. NEVER SO LUCKY (IRE) settled two wide in the early stages, coaxed three to four wide into the far turn, lacked the needed response into the stretch and did not threaten late. PRUSSIAN BLUE settled while saving ground, was unhurried to the half-mile marker, trailed to the quarter pole and did not factor late. CINDY'S SONG hustled away from the start, was sent for the early lead then set the pace to the backstretch, carved out moderate fractions to the far turn, came under pressure then was overtaken at the quarter pole, could not find more into the stretch and tired in the drive.
