WEST IS WEST , under firm rating tracking a contested early, remained forward while between runners heading to the far turn, worked outward to be four wide into the lane, ranged up to challenge outside a pair of foes near the sixteenth marker, kept on willingly but was no match for the winner through the final fifty yards. KINGDOM CITY vied two wide and to the inside of WOODROW CALL, led into the far turn, shook clear under some asking approaching the stretch, kept on under a drive past mid stretch, was surrounded from both sides with a sixteenth to go and faded late. LOOKIN FOR CURLY , off the early pace, edged up six deep nearing the far turn, chased five wide into the lane and churned on. WOODROW CALL vied three wide outside KINGDOM CITY and held a short lead into the backstretch, ceded command nearing the half, was scrubbed along staying latched on past the three eighths, continued willingly past mid stretch then gave in late. JOHNNY WHISPERS settled early, gained some four wide and between rivals near the half, shifted in while not quite quickening past the three eighths and came up empty. HUNTING FOR GOLD , five wide between rivals chasing into the far turn, faded. MISCHIEF IN LISBON stalked the early pace three wide, was joined from both sides heading to the half, lacked a kick into the far turn and faltered.
