FIVEMINUTSOFPASION got away well, then went to the front by about a length under a measured handling, had some trouble changing leads at the top of the stretch, then got straightened out in deep stretch and pulled away in the final yards. GRAND GOLDEN ROAD hopped in the air at the start, then rushed up to press the early pace inside of FIVEMINUTSOFPASION, kept on well under steady handling and urging, but could not match the winner late, while holding safe from the rest to save the place. SAVE THE DATE ducked out at the start and bumped into PEARL MAGIC, spotted the field a bit of a head start, then was rushed up the inside to join the main pack on the turn, waited for running room, then was put to strong handling and urging in the stretch drive but came up short in the end. PEARL MAGIC took a bump from SAVE THE DATE at the start, then was under a ride to keep pace with the early leaders, tracked from a few lengths back down the backstretch and through the turn, then failed to change leads and faltered in the stretch. SIP'N' SPEED was outpaced in last through the early running, launched a three-wide middle move on the turn, but could not sustain the bid through the stretch, and finished evenly in the late stages. BULLS N BERRY broke out at the start, putting GRAND GOLDEN ROAD in tight without making contact, was otherwise away well but dropped back, chased the field through the turn while saving ground, but could not generate much of a rally in the stretch and was outfinished. SOLO SURPRISE broke well but struggled to keep pace early, dropped back late on the backstretch run, came under a stiff ride with three furlongs to run, but tired and did not offer a rally. SMALL TOWN HEROINE broke on top but ceded the lead in favor of a three-wide stalking position to the turn, came under a ride approaching the five-sixteenths marker but did not respond and had nothing to offer in the stretch.
