UNDER CONTRACT vied for the early lead from inside of rivals, took a narrow lead approaching the turn and set a pressured pace to the quarter marker, shook free into upper stretch, drew to a clear lead into the final furlong, held sway to deep stretch and was hand urged to the wire. GATE GUARD was fractious in the post parade, away in good order and settled off of the early pace while never far back, saved ground into the turn, maintained an inside path to the stretch, tipped out and closed willingly into the final sixteenth and was along for second. PAKAS SECRET chased the early pace from outside of rivals, ran in pursuit three wide into the turn, was well placed to the quarter marker, dove inside and rallied into the stretch, chased while on the left lead into the final sixteenth, was outkicked late for second and held clearly for third. FARENHEIT O C prominent in the early stages, was crowded then checked along the backstretch run, got caught in tight and steadied approaching the turn, lost position nearing the quarter marker, ran on into the stretch, needed more late but was trying in the final stages. BEAR ENCOUNTER settled off of the contested early pace, ran in pursuit two to three wide and between rivals nearing the quarter marker, made a mild rally into the stretch but could not impact the leaders late. SIX HOT GRANDS bobbled at the start and was off a step slowly, recovered to be forwardly placed in the early stages then steadied when caught in tight approaching the turn, chased three wide to the quarter pole, swung four wide to upper stretch and weakened late. LIBERTY WOLF stumbled at the start and was last away from the gate, trailed to the turn, advanced along the inside nearing the quarter marker, could not sustain his run into the stretch and flattened out. LEVI GONE WILD showed early speed, crossed over and bothered FARENHEIT O C in the early stages, pressed the pace three then two wide into the turn, was turned away into upper stretch and faded in the drive. UKRAINE STRONG raced in tight soon after the break and was shuffled back along the backstretch run, settled outside of rivals heading to the turn, ran in pursuit five to six wide nearing the quarter marker, was widest into upper stretch and did not factor late. EXCESSIVE THIEVERY settled off of the early pace while racing in traffic, coaxed three then four wide into the turn, lacked the needed response to upper stretch and did not threaten in the late stages. THERE WAS A STEWARDS' INQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING ALONG THE BACKSTRETCH IN THIS RACE, CONCERNING THE ACTIONS OF LEVI GONE WILD AND FARENHEIT O C. THE STEWARDS RULED THAT WHILE LEVI GONE WILD DID IMPEDE FARENHEIT O C ALONG THE BACKSTRETCH RUN, FARENHEIT O C FINISHED AHEAD OF LEVI GONE WILD AND NO ACTION WOULD BE TAKEN.
