Chart notes
MISSION BEACH was crowded a bit at the start but allowed to settle in the early stages, saved ground into the turn then angled out nearing the top of the lane, responded well into the final furlong, took command in deep stretch and kicked clear late. KAUAI DAN crowded MISSION BEACH a bit at the start then was unhurried in the early going, trailed into the turn, angled to the two path to upper stretch and was set down for the drive, rallied three wide to the final sixteenth, could not impact the winner late but was up in time for second. DIAMOND RIM close up to the early pace, went up and pressed three wide approaching the turn, vied for the lead nearing the quarter marker, took command to upper stretch and battled into the lane, was overtaken at mid-stretch but fought on to the final sixteenth, was outkicked late and missed for second. MONGOLIAN MEMORY showed good early speed, disputed the pace two wide and between foes along the backstretch, dueled into the turn and battled DIAMOND RIM into upper stretch, took a narrow lead inside of the furlong pole, battled to the final sixteenth and yielded in deep stretch. POP D'ORO contested the early pace from outside of rivals, chased five then four wide into the turn, was outkicked to upper stretch then weakened in the drive. DESPERATE MAN had good early speed and vied inside of runners along the backstretch, lost position along the turn and chased to the quarter marker, could not find more into the stretch and faded in the lane. DIRT ROAD RED was forwardly placed while between foes in the early going, pressed the pace four wide to the turn, dropped back into the bend, trailed to upper stretch and came up empty in the final stages.
