Chart notes
NATIONAL DIAMOND was quickest from the gate and clear of the rest passing the half, was confidently handled through the turn, then responded when roused at the top of the stretch and held clear under steady handling and urging. HELLO SWEETS broke well chased NATIONAL DIAMOND through the early stages, then kept on under left-handed flagging and on the wrong lead to hold second. CAUSE OF LOVE was unhurried from the break, settled at the back of the compact field, moved up on the inside into the turn, then backed off with no path forward, tipped out three-wide for the stretch run, and finished up well to gain third. SHANGHAI DELIGHT tracked three-wide down the backstretch, loomed a threat in upper stretch, but flattened out in the stretch while lugging in.
