GOLDEN AFFAIR settled while widest into the first turn, maintained a wide path to the backstretch, trailed into the far turn then was roused five to six wide into upper stretch, closed with a rush into the final sixteenth and took command in deep stretch to determinedly prevail. R BARRACUDA threw his head at the start and was off slowly, settled off of the early pace, made a four wide bid into the far turn, vied for the lead to upper stretch and battled PLEASEUSETHEPORTAL into the final furlong, was outfinished late by the oncoming winner and just got up for second at the wire. PLEASEUSETHEPORTAL settled in the second flight early on while three to four wide, chased the decent pace three wide to the far turn, vied for the lead into upper stretch, fought gamely into the drive, was was outfinished late by the oncoming winner and just missed for second at the wire. WITHOUT EQUAL settled in the second flight heading to the first turn, went up and tracked the decent pace two then three wide and between rivals along the backstretch, got shuffled back a bit into the far turn, chased into the lane then re-bid three wide into the final sixteenth but needed more late. SMILING CAPOTE hustled to assume early command, led into the first turn then carved out decent fractions into the backstretch run, set the pace into the far turn, was overtaken to upper stretch, fought on in the drive but gave way in the final sixteenth. MOONLIGHT ROAD raced close up to the early pace then took back into the first turn, tracked the decent pace from the inside along the backstretch, was well placed to the far turn then waited for racing room nearing the quarter marker, could not muster the needed response into upper stretch and chased the leaders in the late stages. SIR LUCAS settled in the second flight early on, went up and stalked the decent pace two wide and between rivals into the backstretch, vied for the lead between foes into the far turn, could not keep pace into upper stretch and weakened in the drive.
