Chart notes
BLACK HORNET settled off the pace along the inside, took hold at the five eighths and trailed soon after, took to the far outside at the top of the stretch and began to rally, brushed slightly at the sixteenth by MISCHIEF RIDE, picked off the remaining foes in time. ROYAL CAUSEWAY hopped at the start, trailed in the early stages, launched an early bid up the backstretch to vie for the lead at the half, took sole command at the top of the stretch, drifted out down the stretch under left handed encouragement and bumped into PROVIDER at the sixteenth, nailed by outside foe. MISCHIEF RIDE settled not too far off the pace in the two path, began to advance five wide after the half, started to rally in the stretch before being brushed by PROVIDER at the eighth and bumped again at the sixteenth into BLACK HORNET. PROVIDER tracked the early pace, closed in four wide through the far turn, brushed slightly with MISCHIEF RIDE at the eighth before being bumped by ROYAL CAUSEWAY at the sixteenth into MISCHIEF RIDE, out-finished by foes. NEWMAN found position around the middle of the pack, dropped back off the pace after the half, angled out six wide in the stretch and finished well. FOLLOW UP settled off the pace, steadily advanced between foes up the backstretch and far turn, flattened out in the final furlong. NEXT TIME stalked the early pace, failed to respond to any encouragement in the upper stretch and faded in the final furlong. ROBERT LEE shadowed the early pace on the inside, backed off in the far turn, pinched back at the eighth. BDS TOP GUN showed good early speed, continued up the backstretch under pressure until giving way at the top of the stretch, weakened then on. STEWARDS INQUIRY FOCUSING ON ROYAL CAUSEWAY IN THE STRETCH RESULTED IN ROYAL CAUSEWAY BEING DISQUALIFIED FROM SECOND TO FOURTH DUE TO INTERFERENCE.
