Chart notes
SCAREDY CATNESS pressed the pace to the outside of UNION SWAG, took command at the three-furlong pole, leaving that rival behind, then held clear of a mild late threat from FAST TALKIN MAN though the stretch to prevail by a comfortable margin. FAST TALKIN MAN tracked three-wide down the backstretch, then launched a bid from the seven-sixteenths marker, chased SCAREDY CATNESS into the stretch, finished well, but could not catch that foe while finishing well clear of the rest. UNION SWAG broke best and took the lead with SCAREDY CATNESS being a constant presence to the outside, yielded to that rival at the three-furlong pole, but managed to hold on well enough late to take third. LOOKIN LIKE LUCKY raced close up between rivals to the turn, weakened through the turn, and was no threat in the late stages. SUPER SMOOTH was briefly close up along the rail, dropped back approaching the turn and had nothing to offer late.
