Chart notes
ME AND CHILI tracked the early pace close up between horses, had no outlet through the turn, bided time to the stretch, found a seam in upper stretch, and finished with a rush to get up in the final jumps. STOMPING MOON broke out at the start, pressed the early pace to the outside of DON'T STOP, bid for the lead approaching the quarter pole, then battled between horses through the stretch, had a narrow advantage late but got nailed in the last jumps by the outside rival. DON'T STOP hustled away to a narrow early lead with STOMPING MOON pressing the issue to the outside, responded when set down in the stretch, battled gamely inside of rivals and came up short in a blanket finish. ILLINI raced three-wide in the clear, raced on the left lead through the stretch, and was outfinished. ABSOLUTE GRIT broke inward at the start, raced close up on the inside, then weakened in mid-stretch.
