Chart notes
HUMBLE TOAD forwardly placed early on, pressed the pace three to two wide to the quarter pole, met bid of AEGIS into upper stretch, dug in while holding a narrow lead into the final furlong, was unyielding in deep stretch and lasted for a determined win. AEGIS close up inside early, took back into the turn, re-bid three wide into upper stretch, dueled HUMBLE TOAD while fighting gamely to the final sixteenth, was denied for the win and clear of the rest for second. BE THE LIGHT off step slow, settled inside, angled out mid-stretch, outkicked into the final furlong and held for third. FAST GUN broke out start, settled to turn, swung four wide upper, lacked the needed late response and finished evenly. LAKOTA LADY showed speed, set contested pace to quarter, faded stretch. NUT BUSH CITY hard to load, rated off early pace, outrun to quarter, eased through the lane, walked off.
