Chart notes
K GUN was urged from the start to gain forward position, bumped by a rival after the opening sixteenth, tracked from inside bobbling slightly midway up the backstretch, waited briefly in behind the leaders at the five-sixteenths till the top of the stretch, angled out at the three-sixteenths, split foes near the furlong grounds commencing a bid and was lightly bumped in the process, won going away under steady handling. CHARDONNAY DERBY soon led, moved clear after the opening quarter, set the pace just off the rail, was thoroughly challenged by the quarter pole, headed in upper stretch, fought back to regain the place. SHE'S BANKABLE got away well but ceded the lead settling outside to stalk just off the leader, advanced three wide on the turn to reach contention by the quarter pole, put a short head in front in upper stretch while lugging in slightly, was outkicked for the minor award. MY BALLERINA lacked early speed, began advancing past the half, moved to contention four wide on the turn, drifted a bit in upper- to mid-stretch bumping a rival lightly in the process, could not sustain the effort and flattened out. NEEKA broke a half-step slowly but was encouraged forward, bumped a rival then checked passing the three-quarters pole, failed to menace thereafter.
