Chart notes
CHASING COLTON pushed early to get forward position, stalked the early leader two-wide into the far turn, backed off going into the turn, dropped down to the inside, hugged the rail into the stretch, assumed command when the leader floated wide on the last bend, and drew away in the late stages. QUARANTINO was left alone to dictate the early fractions, widened the margin through the far turn, then floated out a bit wide on the last turn, leaving the rail open, yielded the lead in upper stretch, but kept on to hold second. ACTION MAN raced four-wide with the tracking group through the first half-mile, moved up to challenge for the lead leaving the seven-sixteenths pole, still four-wide, was in range of the leader three-wide at the top of the stretch, but had trouble changing leads, and hung in the late stages. COOL LESTER SMOOTH tracked in mid-pack with the second flight, and lacked a late bid; was pulled up on the clubhouse turn after the finish, vetted, and transported from the track in the equine ambulance. BECK'S SPIRIT raced at the back of the field and never managed to threaten. GREEWHIZ race three wide near the back and failed to rally.
