MITOCHONDRIA tracked from the three path up the backstretch, ranged up to bid under a ride passing the quarter, took the lead passing the furlong grounds, and forged clear in the final sixteenth. SCAREDY CATNESS set a controlled pace turning into the backstretch, was cued from the two path midway around the far turn, fought on entering the stretch, but got edged out in the final sixteenth. SHORTSTOP chased turning into the backstretch, came under a drive while in the four path passing the three-eighths pole, but made no closing bid.
