Chart notes
ROCKS A BLACK SUIT forwardly placed early, stalked the pace to the half-mile marker, took command into the far turn, led while off of the rail into upper stretch, drew clear into the final furlong and kept to task late. MAJOR CONTENDER settled to the first turn, tracked the pace while widest up the backstretch, chased three wide to the quarter marker, angled in to upper stretch, could not make headway on the winner late and bested the rest for the place. FREE AGAIN settled while saving ground to the backstretch, roused two then three wide along the far turn, needed more into the stretch drive but got up in time for the show. JOHN JOHN settled in the second flight, tracked the pace two wide and between runners into the backstretch, gave chase to the quarter pole, flattened out in the stretch and was outfinished late for the show. LORD WIMBORNE (IRE) was well placed while saving ground early on, lost position into the far turn, angled four wide to upper stretch and lacked a late rally. HOLCOMBE settled to the first turn, coaxed three wide along the backstretch, ran in pursuit three to four wide at the quarter marker, floated out five wide to upper stretch and did not threaten in the late stages. WILD FIREWATER sent to assumed early command, set the pace to the half-mile marker, overtaken into the far turn and faded in the stretch.
