Chart notes
COWBOY CAMPFIRE close up to the solid early pace, dueled two wide into the turn, took command nearing the quarter pole, kicked clear into the lane and held sway late under hand urging. COUNTRY CLUB SPORT disputed the early pace between foes then was caught in tight and took up on the run to the turn, tracked the leaders to the quarter marker, chased three then four wide into the lane, was not able to impact the winner in the late stages and was second best. HOLDWHATYOUGOT broke alertly, contested the solid early pace from the inside, pressed inside of COWBOY CAMPFIRE into the turn, could not keep pace with the winner to upper stretch, yielded to the top pair in the lane and held safely for third. COLFAX KID forwardly placed early on while outside of rivals, chased the leading pair three wide along the turn, was outkicked to upper stretch then weakened in the final sixteenth. CHANCE OF SNOW a bit slow into stride leaving the gate, coaxed three wide to the quarter pole, swung to the six path into upper stretch and did not rally in the late stages. AMERICAN BALLAD bobbled at the start then was slow into stride early on, trailed to the turn and was never involved.
