Chart notes
FLAQUITA broke alertly, rated nicely off early pace, stalked three wide to turn, bid to the quarter pole, vied for the lead to mid-stretch, took command into the final sixteenth and held safely over the oncoming runner-up. SPOONIN SHUGA took back off the early pace, asked for a bid four wide to upper stretch, chased the leaders into the final furlong, came on late but could not reel in the winner and held safely for second. RUNAWAY ROSE broke a step slowly, sent to contest the early lead, took command and showed the way while pressed into the turn, overtaken by FLAQUITA leaving the quarter pole, fought on into the stretch, yielded to the top pair in the final sixteenth and was a clear third. TORMENTA G G took back to track the early pace, saved ground into the turn, was well placed to the quarter marker, chased to the furlong grounds and lacked the needed late response. STRAIT N NARROW lacked early speed and trailed to the turn, swung widest to upper stretch and failed to threaten in the late stages. RAMPAGE ROSE showed early speed, disputed pace two wide to the turn, lost position into the bend and chased to the quarter marker, could not find more into upper stretch and weakened in the drive.
