Chart notes
EKATI'S WAY broke in at the start and bothered inner rivals, engaged with FIVEFIVE SIX CHAMP and disputed solid fractions with that foe into the backstretch, dueled to the quarter pole then shook free into the stretch, dug in while under pressure in the final sixteenth, determinedly held for the win. EXTRADITION tracked the early pace from the inside, angled out to upper stretch then carried out rivals at the three-sixteenths, angled back in inside of the furlong marker and vied between foes into the final sixteenth, just missed for the win at the wire and held for third in a game runner-up effort. MIGHTY LES hopped then squeezed at the start, settled to the backstretch then was coaxed four wide to the half-mile, asked for run into the far turn, got floated out to the five then six path to upper stretch, fought gamely to the final sixteenth but could not reel in the top pair late and held for third. TATANKA was pinched back at the start and trailed to the first turn, raced widest to the half-mile pole, swung widest at the three-sixteenths then was carried out to the six then seven path into upper stretch, battled to the final sixteenth but was outkicked late in a good effort. FIVEFIVE SIX CHAMP showed early speed, engaged with EKATI'S WAY into the first turn then dueled outside of that rival into the backstretch, disputed solid fractions to the half-mile, dueled into the far turn, drifted out into upper stretch, weakened into the final furlong and came up empty late. BIG LUCKY lacked early speed and came under a ride heading into the first turn, trailed to the half-mile, was last into upper stretch and passed a tiring rival in the final stages. COUTH away in good order, rated off of the early pace while saving ground then shifted out and tracked three wide along the backstretch, gave chase three wide approaching the quarter pole, lost position into upper stretch then gave way in the drive. THE STEWARDS CONDUCTED AN INQUIRY INTO THE STRETCH RUN OF THIS RACE, AND RULED NO CHANGE.
