PLAIN FLAT OUT got caught five-wide on the clubhouse turn, stalked the pace still wide down the backstretch, took command at the five-sixteenths marker, and drew clear under steady handling, widening the margin in the final furlong. AROA was pushed from the break into the early pace mix, backed off late on the first turn to a tracking position while keeping to the inside, came off the rail on the far turn, followed PLAIN FLAT OUT into the stretch, and gave futile chase to that one to the wire while finishing clear of the third horse. SO WHATRO got away well and secured an inside position into the first turn, was always close up and without a clear path on the far turn, came out four-wide into the stretch, and produced a grinding finish to gain the minor award. OSAGE EXPRESS was restless as the gates opened and did not get away well, settled wide in the back half of the field, launched a rally from the three-eighths pole, moved up but flattened a bit late to miss the minor award. SHAKE THAT THING completely missed the break and came out four or five lengths behind the field, was the distant back marker in the field to the far turn, came four to five wide into the stretch, and rallied past tired rivals to improve. SURE THING SAMURAI hesitated, then hopped at the start, was last into the first turn, had only one rival beaten going into the far turn, kept on mildly late and outfinished a few tired foes. GOSPEL REGINA hopped at the start, was unable to contest the early pace, dropped to the rail going into the clubhouse turn, settled well off the pace for the first half, kept to the inside through the last turn, lacked a rally but managed to pass a few tired rivals in the late stages. ZAYLA went six-wide into the first turn, continued to race wide in the middle of the pack, then lacked a finish. DODGEBALL QUEEN came together with the inside rival at the start, vied for the lead into the first turn, exited the pace battle on the first turn with the lead turning onto the backstretch, picked up some pressure from two rivals to the outside leaving the half-mile pole, held firm to the quarter pole, then gave way readily. SUNDAY NIGHT CODE mutually bumped with the outside rival at the start, vied for the lead into the first turn, backed off to a tracking position down the backstretch, moved up to press the pace near the half-mile pole, then faltered in the stretch.
