Chart notes
CARMEL ROSE unhurried from the start, was held up inside at the back of the compact field through the early stages, settled three-wide off the pace, advanced through the far turn, came three wide into the stretch, ranged up alongside MISS SERAFINA in upper stretch, and wore down that rival in the final furlong. SIP'N' SPEED settled inside in the second pair and weakened on the far turn. OH GLORIOUS DAY took back after the start, trailed early, not far back due to the slow pace, tracked three to four wide up the backstretch, continued wide through the turn and into the stretch, finished willingly but lacked the needed late kick. LADY HAMILTON sent to the front and attempted to slow the early pace, gave way under pressure approaching the quarter pole, and tired in the stretch. MISS SERAFINA tracked three-wide mid-pack, moved up late on the far turn to bid for the lead at the quarter pole, battled under threat from CARMEL ROSE in the stretch, then yielded late.
