BYK broke alertly and sent for the early lead, dictated terms while pressed to the half-mile pole, shook free into the turn and set the pace while a bit off of the rail heading to the quarter pole, kept to task to mid-stretch then drew clear in the final sixteenth. MASK PATROL hopped at the start and was away a step slowly, tracked the early pace from the inside, was well placed to the turn, angled to the three path nearing the top of the lane, chased the winner into the final sixteenth, could not make late headway on BYK and was second best. GENGHIS tracked the early pace from between rivals, shifted to the three path heading to the half-mile pole and stalked the pace to the turn, chased BYK to the quarter pole, got fanned to the four path into upper stretch, yielded to the top pair passing the furlong pole and held for third. GOING AT IT bobbled at the start and broke a step slowly, settled while widest in the early stages, trailed into the turn, saved ground to upper stretch and did not mount a late rally.
