Chart notes
AMERICAN SPLENDOR made the pace under pressure while out from the rail, edged clear in the far turn then held safe in the lane under steady handling. WISHFUL WINKER was with the early lead three wide, settled back to stalk three wide, rallied in the lane but could not get to the winner late. BLAME NELLIE moved up inside then went evenly in the lane. DYIN A THIRST moved up two and three wide, came inside on the far turn then lacked a further rally. SHORT SPEECH was in reach three to four wide but lacked a final closing bid. PUMPKIN PRINCESS was with the early pace four wide and weakened in the turn. PERFECT DEAL was not a threat. OUR SECRET CODE stalked the pace four and five wide to bid going up the backstretch and tired. RUNNING COMMENTARY dropped back after a half and was eased under the wire.
