Chart notes
PEOPLE FORCE broke a step slow but recovered quickly to vie three-wide for the lead into the first turn, settled into a stalking position to the outside of HAWAIIAN HIDE AWAY, moved to take command at the three-furlong pole, found that rival had a little more to offer, but gained the advantage in upper stretch and drove clear late under steady handling. HAWAIIAN HIDE AWAY vied for the lead between horses on the clubhouse turn, took sole possession of the front heading down the backstretch with a rival in close pursuit on the outside, dug in when challenged at the three-furlong pole, tired and gave way near the furlong marker but kept on to save the place. REGIMENTAL was roused after breaking a little sluggishly, trailed well behind the field going down the backstretch, launched a bid with about three furlongs to run, produced a grinding finish, and was able to gain the minor award. WESTEROS was in the early pace mix on the first turn, backed off a bit heading down the backstretch, and settled in range of the leaders, launched a bid passing the three-furlong pole, came three-wide into the stretch, but could not find another gear and was caught near the wire and missed hitting the board. CRAFTY KING unhurried from the start, stayed in the three to four path all the way around the track, and lacked a late bid. NEW YEAR SURPRISE went three-wide through the first turn, then tacked five-wide down the backstretch, continued on a wide path through the far turn, came five-wide into the stretch and never threatened.
