Chart notes
MISSION BEACH rated off foes soon after the break, checked off heels when edging up near the five eighths, regrouped and angled out, bid three deep around the turn, secured command four wide in upper stretch, remained on the left lead and steadily widened under a drive. RIVERSIDE cleared early towards the inside, was joined by DEPARTURE near the five eighths, handled outer pressure into and around the turn, emerged in a battle to the inside of the winner soon into the lane, stayed on willingly to late then faded. DEPARTURE engaged the leader from the outside near the five eighths, pressed into the turn, failed to go on from between rivals leaving the five sixteenths and steadily retreated.
