Chart notes
MISS METOYER always prominent, stalked the early pace in the clear three-wide, ranged up to bid for the lead after passing the three-furlong pole, put away GROUND CONTROL in upper stretch, then went clear under strong handling and intermittent urging. HONEST ANGUS settled three-wide near the back of the field, advanced through the far turn, and finished with good interest, could not close the gap on the winner but finished clear of the next horse. MISS RIVER RAT was allowed to settle near the back early, was still last going into the far turn, then made a belated rally to gain third. GROUND CONTROL moved up after the start to join MOON MIST two-wide on the first turn, took over the lead after passing the five-furlong pole, quickened on the turn with MISS METOYER in close pursuit, then could not go with that one in the late stages, weakened, and was passed in the stretch. MAX'S REDEMPTION got bounced into LEGAL EMPRESS by the inside rival, almost lost the rider, then settled in mid-pack through the first half, then lacked a finish. LEGAL EMPRESS got off to an awkward start when bumped by the inside foe, was always near the back, and lacked a rally. MOON MIST broke out at the start, bumped the outside rival, then was a bit keen after the start, pulled into the first turn with the rider taking a tight hold to temper the pace, did not respond when asked to go on with the leading pair on the far turn, and tired in the stretch.
