Chart notes
MR. CHIVAS settled back into a three wide position, cued through the turn for a piece of the lead at the top of the stretch, drew clear in the final furlong. EXCELLENT EMPIRE settled off the pace between runners, swung out at the top of the stretch to begin a rally but was held at bay by the winner. SARAH'S BOY BLUE settled off the pace on the inside, closed some ground through the turn, shifted out three wide in the upper stretch, picked off a couple more for the show award. GRANDDADDYLONGLEGS showed good early speed, came under pressure through the turn, ultimately gave way at the eighth and flattened out. MEGA SHACK moved up to vie for command with GRANDDADDYLONGLEGS through the turn, weakened in the final furlong. COG was fractious in the gate, trailed for most, passed tiring foe. PONTUS chased the dueling leaders in the early stages, retreated down the stretch.
