Chart notes
RIMPROTECTOR was unhurried early, saved ground, bid off the rail into the stretch to contend and proved best under steady pressure. SALINE RIVER raced close to the pace, rallied three wide on the turn, dueled through the stretch and was outfinished in a game effort. SILENT RUNNER pressed the pace along the inside, bid along the rail into the final turn, assumed command, faltered near the sixteenth pole and settled for show. STREET VENDOR dropped inside on the final turn, bid along the rail and had little left. KENNEBEC was never far back, had nothing left for the drive and faded. ATHENS MOON set the pace while racing in hand, tired into the final turn and stopped.
